Villas in Lovran
Our next jump took us across the southern border into Croatia, where we spent two nights and a day in the quiet seaside town of Lovran, part of a district once renowned as the Viennese Riviera.

Lovran, on a part of the Adriatic called the Kvarner Gulf, has good hotels and restaurants, gracious villas built a century or so ago for the elite of Vienna and Budapest, a picturesque Old Town built a good deal earlier in traditional Italian style, and a beautiful promenade along its rocky shoreline.
